New Eagles' coach won't get as much as Siasia - Maigari

THE new Super Eagles' coach will not earn as much as Samson Siasia who was relieved of the duty last week by Nigeria Football Federation, (NFF).Siasia earned N5million as monthly salary but the NFF has ruled out the possibility of paying the new coach up to that.President of the NFF, Aminu Maigari gave this hint yesterday when he told The Moments that the federation is unlikely to sustain the kind of remuneration given to Siasia.''The NFF is in a very tight situation for now. We are going to pay according to what we can afford because we are not desperate to hire anybody,'' said Maigari."But it's the responsibility of the executive board to determine what exactly we are going to pay."Clarifying the circumstances surrounding the parting of ways between the NFF and Siasia, the Nigerian football supremo stated that the former coach was not sacked.''Siasia was not sacked, our people must know this. What happened was that his contract was terminated," he explained.You would be right to say he was sacked if he was relieved of his duty for certain misdemeanor on the job. But since it's because it was a contractual issue, his contract was terminated,' Maigari explained.
