HP Nigeria cleans Surulere

THE campaign for environmental protection, development and government efforts at providing a cleaner and healthier environment in Nigeria has received a massive boost as Hewlett Packard, Nigeria, has embarked on a massive environment clean up exercise at Odunjo Street Aguda, Surulere, Lagos.The event tagged ' Clean Environment Project', is aimed at supporting the present administration in Lagos state, in its campaign towards ensuring a clean and healthy community for the well being of the masses.According to the Managing Director of Hewlett Packard Nigeria, Mr Ime Umo, ' we decided to embark on this laudable project because we don't just believe in selling technology, but for the community to feel our impact in ensuring that they keep a save and clean environment.'' it is a global initiative which is endorsed globally by HP in order to create an healthy atmosphere for the community and also by giving back to the society in terms of services'.Umo also said that HP, as a global corporation, is turning to a shared value model, in which it works in alignment with society rather than against it by producing mutual benefits to both the community and the corporation.'We are here to restate our commitment to environmental fortification and assure our consumers of quality products which helps in sharing HP's values and technology where they are needed .'This approach revolves around the traditional model of financial and material goods donations, to one in which corporations leverage in a range of corporate assets including employee skills, business acumen and partner networks, to drive social change,' he saidHe further explained that, HP has shown much commitment to promoting, protecting and educating Nigerians on the need to take good care of their environment as well as supporting various initiatives over the years.
