Lawan, Tinubu mourn Wamakkos daughter

From Sanni Onogu, AbujaSenate President Ahmad Lawan and National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC),Asiwaju Bola Tinubu yesterday joined other Nigerians to commiserate with the immediate past governor of Sokoto State, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, on the death of his daughter, Sadiya.Tinubu personally flew to Sokoto to condole the ex-governor.Lawan described the death of Sadiya at a tender age as painful but urged Senator Wamakko to take solace in the fact that Allah gives and takes as He wills.I share in your grief and pray that Allah will give you the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss, he said in a statement by his Special Adviser on media,Ola Awoniyi.Lawan also commiserated with the government and people of Sokoto state who are mourning with you over the unfortunate incident and pray that Allah will console them.Its a great loss,says TinubuTinubu described the death as a great loss to the bereaved families and prayed for the soul of the deceased to rest in peace.Read Also:Buhari mourns Dr. Marliya ZayyanaThe APC leader restated commitment to the unity of Nigeria, saying that the country could achieve nothing without unity.We have to unite to develop our country. The blood that runs in my veins is the same blood that runs in every Nigerian veins.Whether I am Yoruba and you are Fulani, Hausa or Igbo, the essence of our life is that we are Nigerians.Therefore, we should always dwell and take Nigeria first in everything we do for the good of our country, he said.In his response Wamakko thanked the APC leader and his entourage for the visit and prayed for their journey safety.On Tinubus entourage were former Governors of Kebbi and Nasarawa, Alhaji Adamu Aleru and Senator Tanko Almakura, as well as former EFCC Chairman, Nuhu Ribadu and Alhaji Yusuf Ali, an APC stakeholder.Sadiya aged 23, died on Thursday at the Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital, Sokoto, following childbirth complications.She has since been buried according to Islamic rites.She was survived by her parents, husband, Tambari Yusuf, a staff of Nigeria Ports Authority (NPA) and a five-year-old daughter.
