NAPTIN trains 6,390

The Director-General, National Power Institute of Nigeria, Mr. Reuben Okeke, has said the institute has trained 6,390 personnel in the power sector across the country since 2009.Okeke told the News Agency of Nigeria in Abuja on Thursday that in order to reposition the sector in line with the governments power reform, it had become necessary to train the manpower in the industry, both in technical and non-technical areas, for the challenges ahead.We trained about 3,890 power sector personnel in 2010. From January to September 2011, we trained an additional 2,500 personnel and we are still running the programme in different centres of NAPTIN across the country, he said.
