London 2012: Eguavoen invites 16 Europe-based pros

AUSTIN Eguavoen has invited a total of 16 foreign-based players for the final phase of camping for the CAF U-23 Championship, which is meant to pick Africa's four representatives for the London 2012 men football event.Eguavoen who has just returned to the country after a foreign tour of clubs which featured the invited players had however warned the overseas based players that they hold no automatic slot.Tribunesports recalls that the Dream Team V had been at the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium in Ibadan in the last two weeks, playing series of warm-up matches. The team plays home team, Morocco on November 26 in Tangiers.Three players who represented Nigeria at the 2011 World Youth Championship in Colombia were among the players invited by Eguavoen.They are Ramon Azeez,Terna Suswan and Kayode Olanrewaju.Nigeria has to name its final 21-man list by November 16.FULL LISTNurudeen Orelesi ( FC Skenderbue, Albania) Obiora Nwankwo (Parma FC, Italy) Odion Ighalo( Granada FC, Spain) Uchechi Daniel ( Sheffield Wednesday, England) Haruna Lukman ( FC Dynamo Kyiv, Ukraine) and Nnamdi Oduamadi (Torino, Italy) Nosa Igiebor (Hapoel Tel-Aviv, Israel) Babatunde Micheal ( Kryvbas FC, Ukraine) Suswam Terna ( Victoria Setubal, Portugal) Daniel Adejo (Reggina, Italy) Lawal Raheem ( Atletico Belareas, Spain).Completing the list are Ekigho Ehiosun ( Samsunpor FC, Turkey) Olaitan Otubanjo (Atletico Madrid, Spain) Stephen Nworgu ( Al-Merreikh, Sudan ) Ramon Azeez (Almeria, Spain) and Kayode Olarenwaju (Asec Mimosa, Ivory coast).
