NGO decries rate of maternal, child mortality in Bauchi

A Bauchi-based NGO, 'Sweet Mother Initiative Development Partners', has decried the high rate of maternal and child mortality in the state, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reported.The Coordinator of the NGO, Mrs Diana Doma, made the observation during a visit to the state Commissioner for Local Government, Alhaji Abubakar Faggo, in Bauchi recently.She said that to address this trend, the NGO would embark on an awareness campaign on general health for both mothers and fathers throughout the state.Doma said that the organisation would also embark on a sensitisation on the issue of peace which, she noted, was prerequisite for health and social development of the state and the country in general.
