Ibadan: Your problem'll soon be over, Alade Layout residents told

The Chairman, Alade Layout Landlords and Tenants Community Development Association, in Ibadan South West Local Government Area of Oyo State, Chief Adetunji Bello, has said that the problem confronting the community would be a thing of the past very soon.Speaking with Community News after the road repairs carried out by the residents of the area during the last environmental sanitation exercise, Chief Bello disclosed that the present administration in the local government had agreed to tar the road and complete the community health centre that had been abandoned by the past administrations.Alhaji Bello said that the local government chairman, Mr Taoheed Bolaji Adeleke promised to look into their plights after they had solicited for his assistance.According to him, 'I and some of the executive members of our community, including Alhaji M.A. Yusuf, who is also a chairman in one of the zones in our area here, went to the chairman and we explained what we were passing through, we solicited for his assistance, particularly the tarring of our road and the completion of the community health centre which was inaugurated bythe past administration without completion.'We were assured that before the end of this year something tangible would be done. The chairman had visited our community and he had also sent a team of engineers led by one Mr Elemeso of Works Department in the local government, to take the measurement of the road which is just 1.2 kilometers.'In order to make the road passable pending the time the real work will start, all the residents in this community both the landlords and the tenants came out on the last environmental sanitation day to fill the portholes with sand and pebbles.'Alhaji Bello also commended the local government boss on his efforts to ensure a better living condition for residents of the community.
