The Merseyside derby on Saturday between Liverpool and Everton will not be affected by the city being plunged into the highest tier of England's new lockdown system.<br><br>Various local businesses are expected to close from Wednesday as part of the regulations of a 'tier three' lockdown under the Government's canlatest proposal.<br><br>A final decision is yet to be made on whether the city will face the heaviest restrictions possible, but the news should have no bearing on Saturday's fixture.<br><br>Everton's head of communications, Scott McLeod, told The Mail : &quot;Given the intensive testing program, the training bubbles and the extensive protocols we have in place - both at the training ground and on matchdays - at this stage we are not anticipating any impact on Saturday's game from any increase in local restrictions that may be implemented.&quot;
