Edo gov poll: 1,000 ACN members, others decamp to PDP

Ahead of the 2012 governorship election in Edo State, over 1000 members of the ruling Action Congress of Nigeria and others from the Congress of Progressive Change, on Saturday, decamped from their respective parties to join the Peoples Democratic Party.Receiving the new members into the PDP at a well-attended rally which held in the state capital, Benin, on Saturday, the state PDP chairman, Dan Orbih, said his party was determined to wrest power from the ACN.A former ACN leader in Ohordua, Esan North East Local Government Area, Col. Henry Idenhen (retd.), said he decided to join the PDP because of ACNs unfulfilled promises in Edo State.Speaking in the same vein, Mrs Patience Amadi, from Egor LGA, said she moved with her supporters to the PDP for the same reason.She said, I have decided to leave the ACN with my supporters because it was not what Oshiomhole (Governor Adams) told us that he is doing.
