Fayose inaugurates first executive council

Published by Tribune on Wed, 26 Nov 2014

Ekiti State governor, Dr Ayodele Fayose, on Monday, inaugurated his first executive council and committed the members to oath of secrecy. At a brief ceremony held at the executive council chambers of the Governor's office, Fayose urged the members to be up and doing, adding that as 'it's all about service to the people who entrusted us with their mandate.'He admonished them to be prepared to work for the overall best interest of the state. In another development, Governor Fayose has directed contractors handling 26 projects awarded by the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) during the last administration to proceed with the execution of the projects.A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr Idowu Adelusi, said 'out of the 26 contracts awarded, only two contractors have been mobilised,' adding that 'the governor, however, said they would be allowed to execute the projects as long as the contractors met the requirements for the award and were ready to deliver good jobs.'The governor, while addressing the contractors, noted that he would put the interest of the people above party affiliation, saying he was aware that most of the contractors might be affiliated with the opposition party. The state helmsman, however, directed representatives of the contractors, who had not perfected their papers to do so in earnest and have traceable address if they were ready to continue with the projects.
