Today, people can enjoy the benefits of solar lanterns powered by the sun. And, as gadgetreviews notes, they are fairly economical and clean in comparison to kerosene, and easy to use.Rechargeable lanterns are also a good choice for use in short term situations or emergency. In the instance of lanterns that are solar or crank powered, they can be used almost anywhere. In recent times also, light-emitting diode or LED lanterns have been added to the stock. Brinkmann Rechargeable Fluorescent and LED Camping Lantern are good choices for those who love change. Besides its ability to use solar energy, it features a fluorescent bulb and two LED lights that can be charged by 12V DC adapter or 110V AC adapter. It can equally harness the power of the sun with an attached solar panel. The Solar Powered 1200mAh Rechargeable Lantern, on the other hand, has an AM/FM radio and a strobe light-energy saving fluorescent tube with a twin amber blinking signal light. It has a three-way diamond-cut reflector system, and 2.5W/8.75V solar panels as well as a transparent weather guardfor any weather. With its durable plastic construction and the carrying handle the device is suitable for indoor and outdoor use.Dailycheapstore.comreports that once the power is turned off, the light will be automatically turned on. Its AM/FM radio is capable of receiving almost all the available stations where the lantern is located.Another notable lantern is the OASIS Solar Stainless Steel Lantern, which is specifically designed for outdoor use. The lantern has a high/low solar rechargeable automatic panel opening and an LED light. Its battery, as reported by wilderness-survival.net, will take 12-24 hours for a full recharge through the panel or the user can also use an AC adapter to recharge the battery. Each purchase of the OASIS Solar Stainless Steel Lantern comes equipped with a remote control for easy handling. The SL9000SW lantern is also based on a rechargeable 6V/4AH sealed acid battery that has an over-charge and over-discharge protection. Keeping the lantern in bright sunlight for eight hours will supply it with power for three hours. And if the user needs it fully charged, then it can be kept in the sunlight for 30 hours. It can also use the AC adaptor or the 12V DC car plug and can stay alive for 18-20 hours. And for those who will rather use the conventional electrical rechargeable lantern, Coleman Rechargeable Twin Tube Lantern may be a good choice. It comes with two fluorescent tubes and a three-position switch which allows one or both tubes to be used. The lantern can be recharged from a 110 volt or 12 volt power source while the charging adaptors store in a compartment under the lantern. Gadgetgizomo notes that the lantern delivers on its promise of 14 hours of light.
