Mercy Suess, is one lady whose charming smile and personae will make you want to know her more. Mercy as she is popularly known is a notable face at the Muritala Mohammed Airport, the International Wing Lagos, especially at the Lufthansa Airways where she has worked for 13 years. The Ikot-Apkan Udo kingdom princess in Oruk-Anam, Akwa Ibom State desire and passion to see little children grow in the path they should has been her dream and the major reason for setting up the FrauSuss Children Empowerment Foundation (FSCEF), a non-governmental and non-profit organization. The air hostess and fashion designer had her primary and secondary education at Ajao Estate Primary School and Ajao Estate Secondary, where she earned the best result in WAEC as head girl. Presently pursuing a degree in International Peace and Strategic Studies at the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), she tells DANIEL ANAZIA what fashion means to her. What is your definition of fashion'Fashion should something that reflects you, your personality, signature, interest and character. It is the totality of your person and something that you love and feel good in. Uniqueness of your style When I'm dressing up for events, I put into consideration my mood, body shape and the event itself. I like things that go well with my nature; I like wearing things that make me comfortable. From my youth I have always had the mentality that what is worth doing is worth doing well, so looking good is a serious business. Favourite colourI love bright beautiful colours but I'm fascinated by lemon and blue. They are soothing and not loud; they look calm and appealing. Favourite designerI love piece from Jennifer Lopez JLO Collection; while for my bags, give me something from Louis Voutton. But generally, I wear anything that is good and fitting. Nigeria designers are doing very well. Favourite piece of clothingIt's a multi-purpose short gown I designed by myself and made with Africa fabric (Ankara). Its main background colour is blue but has a touch of brown and gold. I love the dress, it's beautiful and I can wear it all week long. Favourite designerRed Door by Elizabeth ArdenMost expensive item ever bought and its cost valuePresently, it's my car, an SUV but on the fashion side, I'm in love with Swarovski jewelries; they are beautiful and elegant. There is this particular one I bought, though expensive but it's worth the price value as a result of its multi-purpose nature. One problem I have is that I don't always remember how much I spend buying something I love. What would you not be caught wearing'You can't catch me wear a three quarter skirt with a free top. My skirts are always above my knee or completely long to the floor. How often do improve on your wardrobe'Constantly as a designer; whenever I make clothes for the kids in the orphanage, I make one for myself. Must have in your wardrobe this seasonHandbags ' red, white and black. They are the three colours I'm in a mood with this season and they are must have in my wardrobe. What do you consider as fashion faux pax'Wearing something that is not suitable or fitting to your body. Some ladies wear piece that conspicuously expose their couture. Fashion is all about understanding what suits and fit your physique. I really don't like when guys sag with their trousers showing their dirty boxer. Secret of the good lookI'm grateful to God for making so natural; I don't use any cream except Johnson baby oil. I take lots of fruits, watermelon in particular. I wouldn't say I rest because I always come back from work most time early hours of the morning. Favourite foodIt is a German sausage ' Bockwurst; it's eaten with a white bread. Whenever I'm Germany I always go for it. Turn on Integrity, humility and honesty. I like people whose no is no and yes is yes. Turn off I hate people who live fake live; people who are manipulative and not trustworthy..What is sexy in men and women'The confidence and carriage that individual exudes. The way he or she walks, smile, and talk. You could have everything but without attitude you don't my fancy. Choice travel /holiday destinationI love going to Resort in Tanzania. It is a beautiful place; the ambience of the beach, the candles lights that light up the walkway at night from the huts to the beach front is alluring. The current of the beach is not strong, so you could stay there even at night. Craziest thing you ever doneI'm not an adventurous person but I will say I love fun. So, the craziest thing I have ever done is wearing a hot bump shot and give my husband a sexy dance at a club. What would you change in Nigeria if given the opportunity to change a particular thing'I love Nigeria so much that I asked my husband, a German to come live with m here. The level and quality of educational system especially in the rural areas needs to revamp. We must develop a system that must be children friendly. I will start from the very beginning, which I believe will affect the families positively. Philosophy of lifeEverything that happens around me is meant to be that way and th
