Access Bank MD wins Ernst&Young's award

The Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Access Bank, Mr. Aigboje Aig- Imoukhuede, has been adjudged winner of the Ernst & Young West Africa Entrepreneur of The years award. A statement made available to our correspondent on Monday quoted the Regional Managing Partner, Ernst & Young West Africa, Mr. Henry Egbiki, as saying that the company was looking for visionaries who had demonstrated strong entrepreneurial spirit, innovation, and whose ingenuity, hard work, perseverance, strength and agility had created a successful and growing business. According to him, Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of The Year award is a business award programme to recognise visionary and inspiring leaders who are shrewd and capable to seize opportunities.The statement stated that Imoukhuede won the overall award in the Master Entrepreneur category while the Group Chief Executive Officer and Group Managing Director of Notore Chemicals Industries Limited, Mr. Onajite Okoloko, won the award in the Emerging Entrepreneur category. The statement quoted Imoukhuede as saying, "I am honoured to be granted this award which is not only a reward for my personal achievement, but also, more importantly recognition for the banks success."We will continue to leverage our advantages on efficient operation. The key to this success is to never stand still. I am continuously looking for something new, interesting and something that will add value to our stakeholders. Our greatest satisfaction remains delivering results for our clients." One of the judges, Mr. Joe Tackie, said the criteria for selection of the finalists were based on entrepreneurial spirits, how they started their businesses, the impact on the society at large, their personal integrity, innovation and their financial performance. He said the finalists demonstrated that there were companies that could be considered as global and could compete with any other company anywhere in the world."The West Africa Regional winner of the Master Entrepreneur category will be inducted into the Entrepreneur Hall of Fame in Monte Carlo in 2012. The programme builds on Ernst & Youngs over 20 years experience and success in running Entrepreneur of the Year Award programmes in many countries," the statement added.
