"We want government to assist us by equipping the building and bring it back to life for the use of the people of the area".In another chat, a resident of the community, Rauf Ayegbege said, if the Federal Government that constructed the building for a purpose has refused to take it over, the state government could inherit it by making use of the gigantic building."In the whole of Osun State, there is no Orthopedic Hospital, I think, it is an opportunity for the state government to convert the building to an Orthopedic hospital. 'I want to appeal to Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, to come to the aid of the people of Ikire community and its environs by resuscitating this well built General Hospital."Ayegbege, who frowned at government over the present condition of the hospital commended the Caretaker Committee Chairman of Irewole Local Government area, Prince Soji Ajayi for his efforts towards the cleaning and clearing of weeds around the abandoned hospital premises, saying if not for him, men of the under- world would have turned the place to another thing. Also speaking, Alhaji Morokeji Akanji, a resident also called for urgent action from the government on the abandoned hospital.
