Ejigbo LCDA boss to construct N25bn bridge

Published by Tribune on Tue, 08 Nov 2011

The newly sworn in chairman of Ejigbo Local Council Development Area of Lagos State, Mr Kehinde Bamigbetan, has said that he will focus more on the construction of roads during the second term in office.Bamigbetan said this during the swearing in-ceremony of the six newly elected councilors in the LCDA, adding that his administration would be building about 30 roads.According to him, the administration has resolved to work seriously on road rehabilitation in order to put smiles on the faces of residents in the community. To achieve this, Bamigbetan said his government would channel most of its resources towards providing concrete drainages on the roads and laying asphalt on them',He said that 10 of such major roads would be rehabilitated in each of the three years he would be spending in office.Other major projects which the chairman promised the people include, the construction of a N25 billion Ejigbo-Ajao link bridge, which on completion, would reduce to a large extent the traffic problem faced by the people going in and out of the LCDA on a daily basis, the launch of a jetty in December this year to ferry people from Ejigbo to the Island within a very short time, thereby serving as alternative means of transportation, and the creation of employment for youths of the council area. The LCDA boss assured Ejigbo residents that his administration would vigorously pursue the actualization of these projects, while continuing with his free health and educational programmes started in his first tenure.Mr. Bamigbetan solicited for the cooperation of all residents and appealed to them to pray for the success of his administration. He reminded them that he would continue with his transparency and accountability policy. After delivering his inaugural address, the newly elected councilors from the six wards of the LCDA were later sworn-in in a colourful ceremony, by the council's legal officer, Mrs Solate Modinat, in the presence of Mr Bamigbetan, the council's vice chairman, Alhaji Monsurudeen Bello, ACN party leaders and supporters, councils officials and Ejigbo residents.
