Kaga LG requests for fire-fighting vehicle

ALHAJI Makinta Ngamdu, the caretaker chairman of Kaga Local Government Area of Borno State, has appealed to the state government to provide a fire fighting vehicle in the area.Ngamdu made the request while receiving Governor Ali Modu Sheriff, who visited Beneshiek, the council headquarters.'Your Excellency sir, we want you to provide fire fighting vehicle and other equipment for the council, to curtail the rampant cases of fire disasters in the area.'I wish to add that the recurring cases of fire outbreaks in villages have resulted in disasters, as we lack fire-fighting facilities to combat the menace,' he said.The chairman also appealed to the government to assist the council in its quest to reconstruct the Ngamdu Central Mosque, which was in a dilapidated condition.'We are trying to reconstruct the Ngamdu Central Mosque, which was built about 33 years ago. The mosque has been in bad shape and is seriously in need of an overhaul.'About N20 million is needed for the project, which we are trying to embark upon through communal efforts, but we need your contribution for the take-off of the project,' he said.Ngamdu, who assumed office in February as a caretaker chairman, said he had been able to record some achievements since he assumed office.
