Obafemi/Owode LG distributes exercise books to pupils

Provision of qualitative and affordable education, particularly at primary school level, begins with easy and free access to learning materials and conducive environment, among other factors.This is because the quality of formal education given to a child at elementary level often assisted his/her intellectual development.This view was contained in an address delivered by the chairman, transition committee, Obafemi/Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State, Alhaji Jamiu Balogun, who was represented by the vice chairman, Mr Bode Bankole, at the official distribution of free exercise books to public primary school pupils in the council area, at Owode City Hall, Owode Egba.The council boss said that the council area had about 161 public primary schools, the highest in Ogun State and one of the largest in terms of registered primary school pupils and pledged to tackle the resulting challenges faced by the people in the area of educationHe said the free exercise books was another testimony to the commitment of his party's cardinal objectives, as outlined by the state government-led by Senator Ibikunle Amosun.He called on the pupils to make judicious use of the writing materials, while also advising them to keep them clean at all times.He also used the occasion to appeal to the state government on the deplorable condition of roads within the council area.He said since the inception of his administration, he had been grading and resurfacing these roads, but had to stop because of incessant rainfall.He, however, promised that construction and rehabilitation would continue at the end of raining season.
