New Super Eagles Coach, Stephen Keshi, will join the national U-23 team for the Morocco 2011 African Youth Championship, which will serve as the continent's qualifiers for the London 2012 Olympic Games.According to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Keshi is joining the U-23 side on advisory role to the Austin Eguavoen-led technical crew in line with the federation's efforts to ensure that Nigeria qualifies for the Olympics.A top official informed MTNFootball.com that Keshi would join the team after Super Eagles' friendly matches against Botswana and Zambia.'Keshi will be part of the technical crew for the final Olympic qualifiers in Morocco,' the official disclosed.Nigeria is pitched against host nation, Morocco, Senegal and Algeria. It opens the tournament against Morocco on November 26 in Tangiers.Like sacked Samson Siasia, Keshi's contract gives him oversight responsibility for the country's other teams.Keshi has already maintained that he plans to get all the country's teams playing the same style and formation.'Keshi said that by so doing, there will be a lot smoother transition for the players from one national team to the next,' a source informed. The U-23 team is already in Ghana preparing for the championship from which only three countries would qualify automatically for the Olympics, while the fourth-placed team would engage an Asian country in a play-off to complete the teams in London.Meanwhile, the national U-23 team captain,Lukman Haruna, has charged his foreign-based colleagues invited for the African championship to follow up on the NFF's efforts by talking with their clubs in the interest of the country.Lukman, who frowned at the unavailability of Inter Milan's Joel Obi, VV Venlo's Ahmed Musa and PSV Eindhoven's Rabiu Ibrahim, noted that it was now the responsibility of invited players to explain the importance of the Olympics ticket to their coaches.'The coach has visited and solicited for our release. The Federation has followed with the invitation letters. It's now up to me and my colleagues to explain to our coaches what this qualification means to us and our country,' Haruna said.'Even the team's secretary has copied the invitations to our email boxes, so if the club claims not to see the official invitation; we can print ours and take to the coach,' he added. On his possible date of arrival to camp, the former PSG of France midfielder stated, 'I cannot say what date I will arrive, but I am confident I will be in Accra before the weekend.'The 16 invited foreign-based players are expected to report to camp on or before midnight of November 12.According to Olympic team's Media Officer, Arafat Aliu, Atletico Madrid striker, Olaitun Otubanjo is expected to arrive the camp on Thursday, while Nosa Igbiebor, Ekigho Ehiosun and Nnamdi Oduamadi will join after the Super Eagles' friendlies against Botswana and Zambia.
