Elekaara community calls for road rehabilitation

The Elekaara community on the outskirt of Oyo, has called on the Oyo State government to repair the old Oyo-Ibadan road without further delay.Speaking with Community News on behalf of the community and the Elekaara Market Association, Chief Samson Ojo said the road was in a terrible state, adding that since the FederalGovernment could not repair it there was nothing bad if the state government could shouldier the responsibility.Chief Samson added that the road had been abandoned for a long time and the Federal Government did not do anything to make it motorableHe, therefore, urged the state government to act fast in repairing the road .'It is no more motorable as you can see and it is having adverse effect on the social and economic lifestyle of the people living in this community. Most vehicles do not ply the road any more due to its deplorable condition. So, we are appealing to the state government to do something about it,' he said.
