Siasia withdraws suit against NFF

Published by Punch on Fri, 11 Nov 2011

Former Super Eagles coach Samson Siasia has withdrawn the suit he filed against the Nigeria Football Federation in which he sought financial compensation for his sack as Nigerias coach.Siasia said he felt betrayed by the Technical Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation and that going to court was to pass a message that his contract termination was not in order.I have gone to my lawyer to tell him that I want to withdraw the case from court. This is all about me and my future and I also believe that I have passed the message, he said.I do not have any grudge against anybody; it is just the way the technical committee sabotaged (my efforts and made) me to fail.It was so painful and my first reaction was to go to court because a contract is made of two parties and not one-sided. So, I felt I had to make them realise that there are certain areas that the FA must have to improve so that whoever takes my position will gain from what I just lost. The former Heartland boss said his brief stay as the Eagles helmsman had taught him valuable lessons but regretted Nigeria could not qualify for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.I am still not very happy that we could not qualify for the Nations Cup. I know we did our best but somehow it was meant to happen for me to learn some reality lessons, he said.I know most people were disappointed with that but I am the most disappointed. My career, my future and everything I had built for myself have been affected by that single act.
