Restore Nigerians' hope in National teams 'Globacom tells Eagles

Published by Tribune on Fri, 11 Nov 2011

TELECOMMUNICA-TIONS giant, Globacom, has called on the Super Eagles to put smiles back on the faces of Nigerians after the country failed to qualify for the Nations Cup finals holding in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea next January. The Eagles are lined up in double-header friendly games with the Zebras of Bostwana and Chipolopolo of Zambia on November 12 and 15 in Benin and Kaduna respectively and Globacom believes there is no better time for the national team to restore the confidence of Nigerians in the team .Globacom described the two matches as 'Must-Win' for the Super Eagles urging the team to go for outright victories.'They are confidence boosting encounters from where the Eagles must emerge victorious to return to their favorite position before the Africa Cup of Nations ouster, the company said in a statement in Lagos yesterday.'This time calls for unity of purpose not only from the Super Eagles players, but also from millions of Nigerians who must support the team to take this next step back to the top,' the statement added.Globacom commended the Nigeria Football Federation for organizing the friendlies so as to keep the team in shape ahead of 2013 Nations Cup Qualifiers and 2015 World Cup qualifying rounds respectively. The company also welcomed the new coach of the team, Stephen Keshi on board, wishing him a successful tenure.
