Boko Haram: DICON to start production of AK47 rifles

Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DICON), Kaduna has announced plans to commence production of AK47 rifles in a bid to meet the current security challenges facing the country. Speaking shortly after an inspection of the factory located in Kakuri, Kaduna-South, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Defence and Chairman of the Corporation's board, Mr. Linus Awute said with the convergence of the new technology, there was need to reposition the industry to enable it face the new challenges that come with the new technologies.
