The Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Rules and Business, Mr. Albert Sam-Tsokwa, said on Sunday that the proposed Petroleum Industry Bill was aimed at sanitising the petroleum industry.The bill seeks to establish a legal and regulatory framework, institutions and regulatory authorities for the Nigerian petroleum industry, to establish guidelines for the operation of the upstream and downstream sectors, he said, in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Abuja.Sam-Tsokwa said that because of the importance the National Assembly attached to the bill, the House had, on its own, re-introduced it for consideration.
