Electricity workers threaten showdown with FG over breach of agreement

THE national Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE) has condemned recent allegations that local and international power companies are conducting physical due diligence on the 17 power firms put up for sale by the Federal Government saying it is a breach of the fundamental human right of Nigerians, as due process is not being followed.The union has, therefore, instructed its members to be battle ready to take their destinies into their own hands as government's failure to fulfil agreements reached with labour before any investor can take over any power firm put up for sale would not be accepted.NUEE General Secretary, Comrade Joe Ajaero, in a statement said, 'what we, however, know is that the Government/BPE is undertaking a mysterious due diligence by allocating to their cronies, fronts and some cabal members their due share of what becomes of the elephant they had planned to execute. They are sharing what they think have successfully been looted by them.
