THE defending champion of the yearly Total Nigeria Plc's Managing Director's Cup, Northern Territory, has once again retained it title by defeating Head Office 1-0 at the second edition of the competition.Coming from behind, the Northern territory was indeed at the task of meeting up with Head Office, who dominated the whole field, showing different kinds of skills on the field of play, but Northern Territory team was able to curtail their pattern of play, which made them secure the winning goal at the first half.It was indeed an entertaining session for both the players who displayed a high level of dexterity on the field of play, while the audience, and the fans of each team continues to applaud and support their teams, at the same time cheering them to victory.Speaking during the prize presentation, the Managing Director of Total Nigeria PLC, Francois Boussagol, who was represented by the Executive Director, Finance, felix Boni, said what prompted the MD's cup is to create an avenue whereby staffs will have time to work out and at the same time interact with one another through football and outside the office.According to him, 'we believe that sport is like an avenue to interact with each other, encourage and at the same time balance our health. We intended to use this as an opportunity for displaying and developing relationships among all levels of staffs in the company', he said.The winning team, Northern Territory, led by the team manager, Ihetu Nelson, also the Sales manager, Kaduna, expressed his satisfaction at this year's edition of the MD's cup, adding that his team has once again defended their title to defeat the Head office team.Meanwhile, the captain of Northern Territory, Kwazima Kelechi, in his euphoric state said it was interesting to emerge the winner of this year's MD's cup tourney, as it has become a routine for the team to emerge winner in the football competition.However, awards were presented to the outstanding players in the whole competition. Northern Territory captain, Kwazima Kelechi, emerged the Best mid fielder, Sani Bala, Best goal keeper in the tournament, while Western Territory captain clinched the Best defender. The Most Valuable Player went to Adegbulugbe Kola.
