The Basketmouth swags

Published by Guardian on Mon, 14 Nov 2011

BRIGHT Okpocha, popularly known as Basketmouth is a tower in the Nigeria comedy scene. The Glo ambassador is considered one of the few celebrities with style. No matter the occasion, he exudes style and confidence. He always look comfortable and sexy in his unbuttoned shirts, jeans and sometimes, a fitting shirt.Wear your hair neatWhether you are wearing a dread lock, low cut or weaving hair, keep it neat and perfectly groomed.Be versatile'Well, it depends on the kind of style you mean; if it's my comedy, I can define it as a blend of versatility and spontaneity, but if it's my dressense; it's practically the same, my style is just an expression of how I feel,' says Bright.Get the fit rightOne of the most essential fashion tips for men is getting it fit. A lot of guys wear expensive, but ill-fitting clothes. Fit is king. It's simply the most important aspect of style. Well-fitting clothes can rescue the drabbest colours or the cheapest materials.According to Basketmouth, 'I can't really explain the uniqueness with my dressing, but I can tell you a basic factor in my dressing; I always wear fitted clothes from pants to jacket. I elaborate on details minimally.'Though your pant or jeans do not have to be skin tight, there should not be too much extra fabric around your thighs or at your feet. Build self-esteemBeing fashionable will positively influence your perception. Building self-esteem based on internal validation is the key to lasting confidence. But changing your image will make you feel like a new man and guide you on the right path.Complement each other'I don't have a favourite dress, everything on me complements one another, each plays its role,' Bright explains. Do not underestimate detailsIt is considered trivial, but usually the very first to be viewed by others; notice the scarf, tie or your belt.Mix your fragranceAll the gorgeous clothes in the world will not worth a damn if you smell bad. Scent is tied to memory; so you must smell good ' no exceptions! Just like the celeb, you can mix your perfumes. He says, 'Ok, this part might sound a bit funny, but I always mix my perfumes; I can wear as much as six different fragrance just to keep people away from guessing the perfume I wear. I use from Kenneth Cole Black, Chanel Bleu, John Varvatos and others. I just blend all of them to create a rare and interesting smell.' Let your designers define you'I love Zara from their shoes to clothes. Their clothes define my style. I also fancy Duchamp designs as well.' Power of wristwatchesAfter the World War II, advancements in movements and materials have allowed watchmakers to create fashionable, utilitarian and elegant timepieces for various needs and profession across the globe. Men's wristwatches have become a-must-have accessory for celebs; and owning a small collection allows you to match the timepiece to your mode of dress, lifestyle and personality.Basketmouth's major addiction is wristwatches, he says, 'sincerely, I have no idea why I am a sucker for watches, but I just can't say no to buying a new piece. My most cherished fashion piece is my watch. Its worth cannot be revealed as it is. It's worth enough to make me cry if it's stolen.' He adds, 'my fashion muse is my wrist watch; I can walk naked, but as long as I'm wearing my watch, I feel fully dressed.'It can't be bogus'I know I can't be caught in a bogus pant or shirt.'It's got to be blue, purple and white'My favourite colour is blue, I think it makes me calm and funny. Recently, I've been tilting towards purple and white, for some reason, they make me feel the same way, so most times you will see me on any of these colours,' Basketmouth discloses.Shop everywhereThe Glo ambassador says, 'I fancy shopping in the US or Paris, and while in the UK, you can always catch me on Oxford Street or Westfield.
