Earth, Wind and Fire revs up

FASHIONISTAS, socialites and media executives recently gathered at Cheers Bar, Victoria Island, Lagos, for a fashion show staged by Port Harcourt-based label, Revamp.With the theme, Earth, Wind and Fire, the event showcased different collections in prints and geometric cuts for the urban woman.The designer also showcased her edgy fabric-mix posh jacket, embellished hat, dainty cocktail and evening wears.According to Princess Peaceful Owoghiri, 'my designs are inspired by travels, culture and nature. I love dressing people up and making them look good. So, when I get a fabric, I get inspired by just looking at it and the client's shape.'She added: 'I use a lot of luxurious fabrics ' damask, silk, ankara, chiffon and others. The fabric I use for my evening dresses differs from the one I use for the day dresses. I source my fabric from all over ' the US, Turkey, Dubai and, of course, locally too. I don't restrain myself to a particular fabric. I try to combine all sorts of fabrics together for my design. I also work with the local fabrics, especially ankara.
