Amputee footballers get kit boost

Nigeria amputee footballers got a boost ahead of their Disable Africa Cup of Nations campaign on Friday as the CEO of K-Square Multidimensional, Kunle Komolafe, donated football kits to the players in Lagos.The two-week tournament starts on November 18 in Accra, Ghana but the team have not enjoyed the best of preparation, according the technical director, Feyisetan Are.Komolafe said his gesture was borne of his desire to see the team succeed at the continental competition.I felt these players should be encouraged and assisted to achieve their dream. They are representing Nigeria but theyve not enjoyed enough attention from Nigerians, Komolafe said.Ill be happy if they come home with the trophy because that feat will bring them more attention.Feyisetan, who was full of gratitude to Komolafe, said the players needed more special kits to compete at the world level.We dont get many assistance from Nigerians so we see Komolafes gesture as a noble one. This is not the first time he would be coming to our aid, Feyisetan said.Were preparing for a major tournament but nobody is helping us. Weve not got anything from the Paralympics Federation of Nigeria or any other body. We need more equipment and funding for the tournament.Feyisetan added that the team would leave for Accra by road on Wednesday.
