Beach Eagles good for title

COACH of the Beach Eagles, Adamu Audu, has expressed confidence that his team has what it takes to win the Dubai Beach Soccer Inter Continental Cup scheduled to begin on November 22. Adamu in a chat with Tribunesports in Lagos stated that the environment at the Badagry camp was quite encouraging."We are preparing hard and we have a full house already. Everybody is looking forward to this competition."The only worry is that two of my players, Ogbonnaya Okemiri and Ikechukwu Ibenegbu are nursing injuries but I'm very hopeful that they would recover fully before we leave for Dubai on November 19 or 20."I believe we can win this competition with the experience we have acquired in the last two World Cups," Adamu said.The former BCC Lions goalkeeper noted that "we need a competition like this to prepare for major championships because this tournament in Dubai is for the champions of each continent, the current world champion, Russia and the host, the United Arab Emirates".Nigeria is drawn in group B alongside UAE, Russia and Tahiti while Brazil tackles Mexico, Switzerland and Oman in group A.The Beach Eagles it would be recalled lost 8-10 (during extra time) to Brazil in the quarter-final of the last FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup held in Ravenna, Italy in September this year.
