Keshi shifts attention to local players

SUPER Eagles Chief Coach, Stephen Keshi has affirmed that the bulk of players for the new brand national team would comprise of local players from the Nigerian Premier league.Keshi who guided the Eagles to a barren draw against Botswana national team at the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium, Benin-City over the weekend in his first assignment at the helms of the affairs disclosed that priority would be given much to the home based players in rebuilding the team.He noted that with time, more local players would be drafted to the team as he intended to work with coaches in the discovery of good and quality players for national assignments, adding that rebuilding is all about plus and minus to achieve greater level.'I was discovered from the Nigeria league years back, and that gave me privilege to feature for the national team. Now that I am in charge of the team, I will pay more attention to the home based players, I will nor underrate them in my plan','We need time to rebuild the team and the home based players will have greater impact in my plans, and I am expecting them to show enough commitment while in the camp to justify their inclusion in the team', he opined.
