Nigeria High Commission hosts Nuta-Bolt

The Nigerian Deputy High Commissioner to the UK, Ambassador Dozie Nwanna, has called on Nigerian engineering students to focus attention on inventions that would make history and lift Nigeria's name among the countries of great inventors.Ambassador Nwanna threw this challenge while hosting Anambra State University Nuta ' Bolt Team led by its president Mr Chukwudi Okeke, when the team visited the UK for a week of training on the design of BEST Formula Student Racing Car in his office in London recently.Nwanna who spent more than an hour in his office lecturing and, inspiring the team, asked the team not to let the amazing project it had on hand to drop, stating that Nigeria as a country was in great need of the skills the team gained from participating in the international formula student racing project. The project not only trains them to be the best engineers, but also provides vital practical experience and transferable skills for use in a diverse range of industries.He praised the team president, Mr Chukwudi Okeke, who is at present the General Secretary of Oxford Igbo Union UK and the Vice Chairman of Nigerian Community, Oxfordshire, UK for his efforts in preparing the young Nigerians team to make an important contribution to the country, pointing out that Nigeria needs people like Okeke, who is eager to lead other to scientific breakthrough. He also commended the Anambra State University administration for supporting the team, particularly the Vice Chancellor, Professor Fidelis Okafor, Dr. Philip Atanmuo, the Dean of Mechanical Engineering Department and Mr. A. Echezona, the Head of Mechanical Engineering Department, adding that they were exhibiting truly professional educators.Ambassador Nwanna urged all Nigerians to supports the team, as it would become great asset. 'It is pleasing to see young people like you positively representing your country and making it proud.'The team president, Okeke who commended Ambassador Nwanna for inviting the team to the High Commission and for his inspirational speech, also praised the Nigerian National Automotive Council Director General, Mr Aminu Jalal, who helped to make the training trip possible by providing financial support to the team.
