Kwara gov's victory for truth, progress

The victory of the Kwara State governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed in the just-concluded governorship election petitions tribunal, can best be described as a victory, not only for the masses of the state, but as a victory for truth and progress.The Kwara State co-ordinator of the Grand Alliance Network Foundation, Mr Gbenga Adeosun, made this statement in Ilorin, in a post-mortem comment on the governor's victory at the election tribunal.He commended members of the tribunal for their fearless courage in upholding the truth, fairplay and justice in the face of intimidating secret manoeuvres by the rival political party, the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN).Adeosun said with the judgement, it was obvious that the claims of the rival party in filing the petition were not only frivolous and mischievous, but empty in substance, ill-motivated and full of jealousy.He also said that the opposition party had never seen anything good in the government of Governor Ahmed and expressed the hope that with his defeat at the tribunal, the party would now put a stop to the politics of deceit and regimented intimidation and cooperate in moving the state forward.He stated further that Governor Ahmed's performance in the last few months remained unparalleled in the country and expressed implicit to marshal true state to golden heights.
