12 Nigerians for ITF coaches confab in Egypt

TO acquaint themselves with the latest in the sport, 12 Nigerians have confirmed their participation in this month's 17th International Tennis Federation (ITF) Worldwide Coaches Conference holding in Port Ghalib, Egypt, from 20 to 24 November this year.According to coordinator, Mohammed Ubale, the conference would afford the tacticians the opportunity to learn the new rudiments of the game as it obtains globally.The biannual workshop would have speakers ranging from former players and top class coaches, who distinguished themselves in the sport.The event is being organised by the ITF in conjunction with the Egyptian Tennis Federation (ETF) and the theme of this year's Conference is, 'The Long-term Development of a High Performance Player'.According to the organisers, the conference would deal with issues related to professional tennis coaching, applied sport science for top coaching, high-level player development and coaches' education.The conference is the showpiece of the ITF's Coach Education Programme and the five-day event offers a perfect combination of coaches' education, the latest sport science information and practical on-court presentations.The event, which is held every two years, has been held in America, Asia, Africa, South America and Europe.
