Public servants can excel without joining cults 'DIG

THE Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), Mr Azubuko Udah, has said public servants, including security operatives, do not need to belong to secret cults to become successful in their chosen careers.Udah, who spoke in Onitsha at the weekend, as a guest of honour at the golden jubilee of Assemblies of God Church in Onitsha, said what a Christian in public office should do was to be firm and committed in his belief in God, saying that trials and tribulation would definitely come but would pass.According to the DIG, in his career as a senior police officer, he had been approached by many secret cult organisations, who tried to convince him to join them, on the grounds that no person occupying public positions could successfully do that without belonging to one secret cult or the other.Udah, who said he was lucky to have been born into a Christian home, who were members of the Assemblies of God, told newsmen that each time these secret cult came, he quoted to them a verse in the bible which stated that, 'that he who is in him is greater than he who is in the world.
