Expect neighbourhood markets oguntoyinbo

THE Ekiti State government will soon build six standard neighbourhood markets in its three senatorial districts, to be sited strategically as outlets for farm products in particular.This was disclosed by the Special Adviser to Ekiti State Governor on Rural Development, Honourable Bamiteko Oguntoyinbo, while sensitising rural dwellers for rural transformation recently at Igede-Ekiti, the seat of Irepodun/Ifelodun local government.He was responding to the complaints of a community leader about the Igede market which he said was situated on both sides of the busy main road in the town and had thus, been a death trap, claiming lives.The special adviser said he had passed through the market on his way to the sensitisation forum and had observed that it constituted a great danger to buyers and sellers, calling on the caretaker chairman, Honourable Alfred Olufemi Aluko, to treat the relocation of the Igede market with utmost urgency.At Efon Local Government, Honourable Oguntoyinbo announced, to the joy of his audience, that Ita Awure had been chosen as a site for one of the planned neighbourhood markets.The Irepodun/Ifelodun caretaker chairman, Honourable Alfred Olufemi Aluko, in his speech, had reeled out a list of his achievements in just four months and called for the carving out of another local government from the Irepodun/Ifelodun local government to satisfy the various needs of the various communities in the area.
