Alajagbe road is bad, needs urgent repair ' Residents

People living at acommunity knownas Alajagbe in Academy area of Ibadan, Oyo State, have said that they are not happy with the state government.The residents also affirmed that the only thing that could make them to praise the authority of Oluyole Local Government Area of Oyo State was to get assurance that the roads within the community which have gone bad, wouldbe rehabilitated in no distant time.According to the residents of the community, they have not witnessed any development project in recent times from the state government, expecially in the last six years and every efforts to experience dividends of democracy had been frustrated.In the opinion of a resident, Alhaji Adeola Adisa, he said they were not saying anybody should come and give the people money or distribute food stuff to them, 'what we are asking for are physical infrastructure and social amenities that would make life to be better for the residents of the community.'Alajagbe area is very popular in Academy area of Ibadan and we are known for making demands for good social amenities. People of this area are enlightened and know what they lack and that is why we want what would make life better for us. Therefore, nobody can silence us as far as begging for amenities that would improve our standard of living.'I repeat it, we won't take money or bride from anybody or politician in exchange for better life and that is why we are calling on the authority of the local government in charge of our community to help repair our bad roads and if they can do it, we are also asking for good potable water,' he stated.Another resident of the area, Mrs. Abigael Oluyede said the road network in the community needed urgent attention, stressing that they believed the government of Governor Abiola Ajimobi would listen to their cry because the man is a progressive.'We have seen the good work the governor is doing on major roads within the city. We can also appreciate the timely repair work the state Road Maintenance Agency (OYSTROMA) is doing to fix potholes on major roads and clear many blocked drainages. We are therefore begging the state government to extend the road rehabiltation work to Alajagbe community so that we can continue to praise and support them,' she pleaded of his government.Othe residents of the area who spoke with Community News also begged the state government to direct the officials of OYSTROMA to the area to help repair all the bad roads in the community, adding that the road was becoming a headache for them.
