FRSC CHIEF'S SENSE OF JUDGEMENT

THE driver of a Toyota Hiace vehicle with registration number QX 362 LSR (Lagos) had reportedly left his lane and faced oncoming traffic from Ife because armed robbers were operating on his side of the road. His decision led to the death of seven of his passengers with others badly injured.THAT was obviously bad judgement and the FRSC Head of Operation, Egbeda Unit Command, Assistant Corps Commander, Denis Ioryina, reportedly pronounced him guilty thus: The driver of the Toyota Hiace bus coming from Lagos had left his lane because of an armed robbery attack and he ran into the two stationary vehicles, adding that the accident would have been averted if the driver had kept to his lane.WE also wonder why the driver did not keep to his side of the road and risk the type of experience that some Abuja bound passengers went through in Kogi State when armed robbers ordered all of them to lie on the road while they were robbed of their valuables. Meanwhile, oncoming vehicles ran them over, reducing them to something worse than meat for meatpies.IN Nigeria, death comes in all shades. Most don't even have the option to choose the manner of their death. What with bombs everywhere and the national security agencies' arms in a holster.
