Uduaghan advises health workers on patients

DELTA State Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan has urged healthcare workers to have a positive attitude towards patients as this helps in accelerating their recovery. He also advised fathers not to leave the health issues of their children to mothers alone.Uduaghan, who gave the charges at the second quarterly polio eradication sensitisation campaign at Bomadi, enjoined health officials to refrain from exhibiting negative attitude as this could worsen the illness of patients.He said some medical workers were always aggressive even when administering treatment and appealed to them to be humane, tolerant and friendly so that patients would have a good frame of mind to recover fast.'Health workers should have positive attitude towards patients. Some of you are aggressive and do not exhibit friendly attitude. Show concern and be humane', Uduaghan advised.The governor promised to sustain the status of a polio-free state and directed stakeholders in the health sector not to allow the campaign to end at the venue of the sensitisation.Uduaghan said the glamour that featured at the venue should not blind their sense of commitment towards the actual polio immunisation.
