Veteran Broadcaster & Actor, Mazi Ukonu Is Dead

<blockquote>Veteran Actor, comedian, singer and broadcaster, Chief Mazi Anyogu Elekwachi Ukonu, has died at 90, Igbere TV can confirm.<br><br>Born on March 5, 1930, Ukonu was from Igbere Bende Local Government Area.<br><br>Though the family is yet to issue a statement, Mazi Ukonu died peacefully at his home on Wednesday, a sourced told our correspondent.<br><br>The Doyen of broadcasting and entertainment, Mazi Ukonu is one of the first Nigerian actors to star in Hollywood productions including William Witney's 'Panama Say' (1957) and Walter Grauman's 'The Disembodied' (1957).<br><br>Mazi Anyaogu Elekwachi Ukonu was the pioneer General Manager of the Nigerian Television Authority, Ogbor Hill, Aba.<br><br>He conceptualised, organised, produced, directed as well as participated in the popular Showbiz programme titled, Ukonus Club.<br><br>Mazi Ukonu is known as an irresistible inspirer of men and women and a masterpiece of Gods own creation.
