Hit-and-run driver kills man in Delta

By Polycarp Orosevwotu, UghelliA hit-and-run driver on Thursday killed a middle-aged man, identified as Daniel, on East/West road, in Ughelli, Ughelli North Local Government of Delta State.The driver escaped.It was learnt that Daniel, 28, worked as a security guard at a popular hotel in Ughelli, and lived at Agbarha-Otor.A source said the victim was on night duty and was returning home on his bicycle when he was crushed by the driver.Read Also: Truck driver kills pedestrian in AnambraThe source added: He was seen this morning (yesterday morning) by passersby, who contacted his place of work, but before he could be rescued, he had died. His remains have been deposited at the Ughelli Central Hospital morgue.When The Nation visited the Central Hospital mortuary, Ughelli, the deceaseds elder sister was seen weeping, calling other family members and relations.
