Chelsea legend and current Everton boss Frank Lampard has claimed he does not have a personal relationship with the club's troubled owner Roman Abramovich.The Blues billionaire owner was slammed with sanctions following Russia's invasion of Ukraine, meaning the club cannot sell tickets to home or away fans, agree any new transfers or contracts, sell merchandise, spend more than 20,000 on away travel or carry out any building work on Stamford Bridge. Abramovich is being hit due to his links with Russian president Vladimir Putin in a bid by the UK Government to pile pressure on the country. Lampard featured featured prominently when Abramovich bought Chelsea in 2003, playing a huge part in the success of the team under the Russian.And when asked for his thoughts on Abramovich Lampard said: 'I can probably count on one hand how many times I've seen him in the last many years. 'I worked for Chelsea, which was an absolute pleasure for 13 years. And that's where I want to leave that one.'In contrast, Abramovich revealed in a statement he has a close relationship with the former England international following his sack as Chelsea manager.He said: 'This was a very difficult decision for the club, not least because I have an excellent personal relationship with Frank and I have the utmost respect for him. 'He is a man of great integrity and has the highest of work ethics. However, under current circumstances we believe it is best to change managers. 'On behalf of everyone at the club, the board and personally, I would like to thank Frank for his work as head coach and wish him every success in the future. 'He is an important icon of this great club and his status here remains undiminished.
