Nigerians Should Stone Us With Their Votes In 2023 If...' - Tony Momoh

Published by Nairaland on Mon, 18 Jan 2021

Prince Tony Momoh, a former Minister of Information on Sunday said Nigerians should stone the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) with their votes in the 2023 general elections if they didnt perform to the expectations of the citizenry.

Speaking in an interview with Daily Independent, Momoh said when he said Nigerians should stone APC leaders if they didnt perform four years ago, he wasnt referring to physical stoning as there is nothing like that in the constitution of the Federal Republic.

He said the only way Nigerians can stone the APC is by voting them out if they believed they have not justified the confidence reposed in them both in the 2015 and 2019 presidential elections.

He however added that the APC cannot be rejected by Nigerians in 2023 because of the partys sterling performance at federal, state and local government levels.

The fact is, I said if we dont perform, stone us. Im not referring to physical stoning. If we dont perform, there is only one way Nigerians can stone usby voting us out.

How can I say pick stones on the ground and throw at us for non performance' Is there anything like that in the constitution'

You stone us by not voting for us. But I know we cannot be stoned because we have performed. There are lots of things people dont know about President Buhari. Buhari looks up when he does anything and he believes that he is accountable only to God Almighty and only God can judge him he said.

https://www.independent.ng/nigerians-should-stone-us-with-votes-in-2023-if-we-performed-woefully-tony-momoh/
