Fraudsters take over Nasarawa

By Linus Oota, LafiaChairman, Special Public Works in Nasarawa State Kassim Mohammad has raised the alarm that some Yahoo-boys/fraudsters have taken over Nasarawa State.He told reporters on Thursday in Lafia, the state capital, that Yahoo-boys have developed a new mechanism that enables them to hack into peoples bank account details to divert huge sums of money.Kassim, who is a former member of Nasarawa State House of Assembly, said the fraudsters recently took over his Zenith Bank account with the intention to fleece him of his money, noting that they have done a similar thing to his Access Bank account where they transferred money to his account and later wipe out his entire account.Read Also; FCTA raises alarm over fake COVID-19 inspectors, fraudstersIn a chat with reporters on Thursday in Lafia shortly after submitting a complaint letter to the management of Zenith Bank, Kassim said on Tuesday, he saw an alert of N150, 000 to his Zenith Bank account from a source he cannot identify and is entertaining fears that his account is at risk.The complaint letter he wrote to the bank reads: Notification of fraudulent transfer of N150, 000. I wish to write and bring to your notice that at 4:23 p.m. on Tuesday (2/02/2021), I received an alert of 150,000 only to my Zenith Bank account 2176990631from one Bello Jibrin Isa.I sincerely denounce the transaction and call on the authority of Zenith Bank Lafia branch to act immediately, please.
