The company said the total number of sales through its platform, was up 300% year-over-year in December 2020. To meet a surge in customer demand, Instacart grew its shopper base from 200,000 in March to more than 500,000 today.</p><p>At the corporate level, Instacart is looking to increase its headcount by 50% across the company in the next six months, which means filling about 1,000 roles. For the US, Instacart applied for 178 H-1B visas for these and other roles under the company <a href="https://www.instacart.com/terms" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Maplebear Inc</a>., which does business under the name Instacart. </p><p>Most of these jobs listed were based at the company's headquarters.
