20 suspected Yahoo boys arrested in Owerri

By Yusuf Alli, Managing Editor, Northern OperationThe Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested 20 suspected internet fraudsters.The suspects were arrested on Friday at New Owerri, Emenike Estate, Norble Abode, Owerri, Imo State.About 40 mobile phones, 17 laptops of various brands and six vehicles were recovered from the suspects.According to a statement by the Head of Media and Publicity of EFCC, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren, the suspects were apprehended by the operatives of the Port Harcourt Zonal Office of the commission.Read Also:EFCC arrests 39 suspects in Osun, OgunThe statement said: The suspects are: Onyebuchi Victor; Israel Victor; Emeka Clinton; Stanley Uche; Onyemachi Stanley; Ikechukwu Agbalieze; Franklin Ugoegbu; Nze Collins; Nwokoro Santus and Agocha JohnsonOthers are: Oscar Anumata; Emeka Clinton Nkeoga; Ogwu Chukwu Akagha Marvis; Victor Obioha; Charles Onymesi; Awunnaya Victor; Henry Stephni; Jerrard Uwaima, Franklin Uzoma and Obidike AbuchiItems recovered from them include: 40 mobile phones, 17 laptops of different brands and six vehicles: one blue-coloured Toyota Corolla car; one black-coloured Acura ZX car; one ash-coloured Lexus GX 460 Sports Utility Vehicle; one (1) green-coloured Venza car, one black-coloured Mercedes Benz car and one (1) ash-coloured Lexus 330 SUV.The suspects would be charged to court when investigations are concluded.
