DSS Frees Dawisu Salihu Tanko-Yakasai

<blockquote>The State Security Service has freed Salihu Tanko-Yakasai, the former spokesman to governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje.<br><br>Mr Tanko-Yakasais elder brother, Umar, confirmed the development to DAILY NIGERIAN on Monday night.<br><br>My brother has just been released by DSS. We are now driving home, he said without further elaboration regarding the conditions of the bail.<br><br>The SSS <a href="https://www.nairaland.com/6436886/salihu-tanko-yakasai-sss-confirms-arrest#99472123"><i>admitted </i> </a> on Saturday that Mr Tanko-Yakasai was in their custody after mounting social media storm over the arrest.<br><br>The Kano State Director of the service, Alhassan Mohammed, earlier <br><a href="https://www.nairaland.com/6436244/salihu-tanko-yakasai-not-custody#99459320"><i>on </i> </a> Saturday morning denied arresting Mr Tanko-Yakasai, describing the report as mere rumour.<br><br>But in a terse statement sent to DAILY NIGERIAN on Saturday night, spokesman for the service, Peter Afunanya, confirmed the general belief that the social media influencer was arrested by the service.<br><br>In the wake of the arrest, Mr Ganduje <a href="https://www.nairaland.com/6436303/ganduje-sacks-salihu-tanko-yakasai#99460409"><i>announced </i> </a> his sack over unguarded utterances and criticism against the ruling APC.<br><br><a href="https://www.nairaland.com/6174282/governor-ganduje-suspends-salihu-yakasai#94838551"><i>It can be recalled that the Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, had suspended his Special Adviser on Media, Salihu Tanko-Yakasai, for criticising the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd) in October 2020. </i> </a><br><br><a href="https://www.nairaland.com/6214449/endsars-ganduje-reinstates-salihu-yakasai#95464608"><i>He was reinstated about 18 days later. </i> </a> </blockquote><br><a href="https://dailynigerian.com/breaking-sss-frees-salihu/amp/'__twitter_impression=tr">Daily Nigerian </a><br><br><br>lalasticlala mynd44
