Afenifere laments communal clashes

By Emmanuel Oladesu Afenifere Egbe Ilosiwaju Yoruba has condemned the breakdown of law and order, which led to loss of lives and property as well as loss of trust and a sense of community among the hitherto peaceful residents of Shasha in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.The acting National Leader of the group, Senator Olabiyi Durojaiye, described the incident as one major security breach too many, saying no patriotic Nigerian can feel comfortable in the face of these ominous signs that have unfortunately been allowed either by omission or commission to persist unabated nationwide for too long.Read Also: Three feared killed in Osun communal clashAccording to a statement by the National Secretary, Bayo Aina, the elder statesman said the time has come for those who love Nigeria and desire its continued peaceful existence as a corporate body to rise to the occasion.He said those mandated to maintain peace and order should find a solution to these recurring breaches of peace and security nationwide.There is loss of community spirit. A stitch in time saves nine, he added.
