Nasarawa communal clash: Death toll rises to 11

Not fewer than 11 persons have been reportedly killed in the communal conflict between the indigenous people of Alago and Tiv people of Keana in Keana local government in Nasarawa State. President of Mzough U Tiv, MUT, Nasarawa State chapter, Philip Nongu, who confirmed this to journalists, alleged that over 11 Tiv people including students of the Federal Girls college Keana were killed, noting that students were trapped in their hostels. Eye witnesses report revealed that the crisis was due to a land dispute between the Alago and Tiv at the Benue/Nasarawa border community.
