NCAA talks tough on delayed flights

The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has vowed to sanction any airline involved in deceitful departure time scheduling. Its Director of Consumer Protection and Public Affairs, Michael Achimugu, at a press conference, yesterday in Abuja, regretted that airlines were fond of using the bait to attract passengers on early engagements, who, thereafter, end up disappointed due to delayed flights or cancellations. The warning comes against the backdrop of complaints by passengers accusing some airlines of scheduling flights when there are no available aircraft, leading to arbitrary delays, merging of flights, or, at worst, total cancellations.
