Appointments of 100 SAs for empowerment purposesRivers LG Chair

The Obio-Akpor Local Government Caretaker Committee Chairman, Chijioke Ihunwo, has said the appointment of 100 Special Assistants was for empowerment purposes. Ihunwo said the move is in line with the state governors decision to empower the citizens, bringing the much-desired prosperity and development to the state. The Guardian gathered that the appointees, all with the title Special Assistants (SAs), render services to the council such as sanitation marshals, security watch, and other auxiliary services. It was also learnt that the special assistants are being paid N50,000 per month.
